Gemini's October drop adds Antigravity on Mac and shared avatars
By Steven Van ·
Google's October roundup puts a local coding agent in the Mac app and lets friends share avatars, with age, language, and region limits on several items.
On October 30, Google posted an 11-part Gemini Drops thread. New here are Antigravity in the Gemini Mac app, shared avatars, and skills.
What's new
Antigravity is built into the Mac app. You click it at the top, approve the agent's plan, and return to chat while it builds and tests. From there you can build software, prototype 3D games, and automate workflows.
You can share an avatar with friends, family, and collaborators, then tag them in a prompt. Sharing uses a Gmail address, and they can decline. New images and videos stop. Work already made stays. Setup is in the reusable avatar post.
Skills save instructions you reuse, built from a chat or stacked. They are for people 18 and older and will replace Gems, and existing Gems move over. Typing @ Gemini Notebook adds notebook content for grounded questions.
Availability
On Mac, Antigravity is in English for personal accounts and eligible work accounts, age 18 and older, where Antigravity is supported, at gemini.google/desktop. An avatar needs a personal Google account, age 18 or over, and English. It is not available in the EEA, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom. Video with your avatar needs a Google AI plan.
Argon is rolling out in the app for Google AI Pro and Ultra. Customize is rolling out on the web, on mobile, and on Windows and Mac, for every tier. Most connected apps are in English in the United States, with some in other English-speaking regions, Brazil, and India. Windows needs Windows 10 or later and Alt + Space.
