Gemini adds immersive explorations you can tap through

By Steven Van ·

Topics such as the Silk Road, a jet engine, and lightning open as layered scenes in the Gemini app, on the web and on mobile.

Google added immersive explorations to the Gemini app on October 28. A library of topics opens as interactive scenes with guided explanations, from Silk Road trade routes to the inside of a jet engine and the physics of lightning.

You tap a label to go deeper, from a wide view down toward molecules and atoms. The library is in the Gemini student hub, under Try immersive explorations, and at gemini.google.com/immersive-explorations. Opening one from inside a chat, and audio narration, are not available yet. Google says both are coming.

It is on the web and on mobile. Google lists English, Indonesian, Hindi, Brazilian Portuguese, French, and simplified Chinese. Other languages currently get an English-only experience. In the student hub it is on Education Fundamentals, Standard, and Plus. The direct library is available to Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and personal Google accounts.
