PRODUCTIVITY
📔 Claude releases “Docs, Sheets, and Slides” Extension

Claude now works inside Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. The new Claude for Google Workspace add-on opens in a sidebar next to your file, reads what you have open, and edits it in place.

Note: In public beta on all paid Claude plans (Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise). Install it from the Google Workspace Marketplace, then open a file and go to Extensions > Claude > Open Claude.

What it can do in each app:

  • Docs: Fix a sentence or restyle a heading without breaking your formatting. Bigger rewrites show up as suggestion cards you can apply or dismiss (e.g., "tighten this intro and turn the next steps into a table").

  • Sheets: Write formulas, build pivot tables and native charts, and add new tabs. Great for a sponsor tracker, content calendar, or monthly revenue report.

  • Slides: Build new slides using your deck's own layouts and theme, then flag text that overlaps, runs off the slide, or is hard to read.

DESIGN
🤖 Figma releases “Figma Agent”

Figma's AI design agent is now generally available. The Figma agent is a built‑in helper that can change designs, generate new layouts, and clean up files just from your instructions in plain English.

Figma says it wins in "~60%+" of its human-graded evaluations with professional designers.

Note: The agent was free during the beta. Figma's AI credit FAQ says that since October 6 the agent draws "from the same credit budget as your other generally available AI tools, like Figma Make."

What's new with general availability:

  • Team guidelines: Upload simple text files with your design rules (e.g., "only use red for Delete buttons"), and the agent follows them every time.

  • Search across Figma: Ask the agent to pull in other design files, FigJam sticky notes, or content from Figma Slides without leaving your file.

  • Watch teammates' agents: See other people's agents working live on the canvas.

  • Image edits: Pick an image model and edit images straight from the canvas.

  • Custom skills: Save repeatable workflows (like a brand or accessibility check) as skills. Skills now work on Starter too.

  • Generative plugins: Building your own plugins by prompting the agent is now generally available.

Where it shines: clearing busywork. Have it swap outdated components across a file, sort design feedback into themes, or explore 10 variations of a layout while you focus on choosing the right one.

WEB DESIGN
🎉 Shaders is now "Open Source"

Shaders is now open source! Its 200+ visual effect components, rendering engine, and framework integrations are free to use under the MIT license, including in paid client work.

Note: The components, the design editor, and code export are free. Shaders Pro stays paid ("Pricing is unchanged," says founder Simon) and adds 1,000+ curated presets, 55+ ready-made website sections, and video and image rendering with no watermarks.

What’s a shader? It’s a tiny graphics program that tells your computer how to draw special effects.

When you see things like rippling water, realistic fire, fake glass, or a spotlight following your mouse on a website or in a game, a shader is usually the little program doing that work on your graphics card.

What this means for you:

  • Use it anywhere: Client sites, templates, products, and libraries. No license needed.

  • Export for free: Design an effect in the editor and export code for React, Vue, Svelte, Solid, or plain JavaScript. There's also a Framer plugin.

  • Better results from AI: Coding agents can already write shaders, but the raw code often runs poorly on real sites. Shaders gives your agent tested, ready-made components instead.

  • Make your own effects (experimental): The defineShader language Shaders uses to build every component is now public and documented.

BUSINESS

Finally, a Monday that doesn’t feel like one.

Imagine a Saturday where you're not catching up on the CRM you didn't touch all week.

HubSpot's new self-updating CRM doesn't wait for you to log back in. Friday's calls are already logged. The deal that needs a nudge Monday morning is already flagged. The automation you set up once keeps running without you thinking about it. None of it needed you over the weekend.

Customers are already seeing it pay off: 45% more deals closed. Finally, you start Monday caught up, not behind.
