What is Claude Duet?

Claude Duet is a new app from Claude where Claude works as a proactive agent. The research preview opened on October 21, 2026, on a waitlist for Claude Pro and Max subscribers in the US, on iOS, Android, and claude.ai. Team and Enterprise plans are not included yet.

Each morning it sends a short brief. Through the day it checks connected accounts every few hours rather than continuously, and it messages you when something needs attention. You hand it a task in one ongoing thread, by typing or voice.

The work runs on a virtual machine with its own browser, so your laptop or phone does not have to stay on. It can read, draft, and prepare work on its own. Sending, paying, signing, or deleting waits for your approval.

Trading securities and moving money between accounts stay off-limits even with approval. It is included with Pro and Max and shares those plans' usage limits. It is its own app, separate from the main Claude app, and it is powered by Claude Opus 5.5.
