Community site of posts, comments, and votes, now testing a logged-in-only experience outside the US.

About Reddit

Reddit is the community site at reddit.com. On October 29, 2026, CEO Steve Huffman said in the Q3 shareholder letter that Reddit is shifting to a logged-in-only experience. Testing begins in select markets outside the US in Q4 2026, and those tests are meant to shape a global version.

The letter does not give a worldwide date. On the earnings call he said people should still get a taste of Reddit on the homepage, and that shared links should keep working. Axios reports that the homepage and content opened from search or a shared link stay viewable while logged out, that a logged-in account does not require a real name, and that incognito mode in the app is being rebuilt as read-only.

The Q3 release says daily active uniques were 130.3 million.

Pricing: Reddit is free to use. Checked November 1, 2026, from the October 29 shareholder materials.
