EdgeBar is a macOS menu bar app from Shashank Bhardwaj. The right edge of the trackpad is a volume slider and the left edge is a brightness slider, and both use the same on-screen display as the keyboard keys. Quick Mute is a double-tap in the top-right corner.
The Media Strip is a swipe along the bottom edge to skip, and a tap can play or pause. Version 1.4 turns tap to play or pause off by default, so clicks near the bottom edge do not pause music. Holding Shift-Option moves in quarter steps.
Settings cover haptic strength, freezing the cursor while you slide, keeping slides to the bottom quarter, swapping sides, requiring a modifier, Light or Dark, and opening at login. The site says it lives in the menu bar with no Dock icon. The price on edgebar.xyz is $5 once, and it requires macOS 13 or later.
The changelog lists 1.3 on October 26, 2026, and 1.4 and 1.5 on October 29, 2026. On November 1, 2026, Bhardwaj posted that the first day brought 200+ orders. The site does not publish that order count.
Pricing: $5 once on edgebar.xyz. Requires macOS 13 or later. The pages checked on November 1, 2026 do not list a subscription.
