Independent browser domino-logic puzzles with unlimited free browser play; separate paid iPhone app advertised.

About Pips2

Pips2 is an independent website and iPhone app for Pips-style domino logic puzzles. Each puzzle has a shaped board and a rack of dominoes, and every domino must be placed exactly once so that every colored region's clue is true at the same time. A clue can be a target sum, equal values, different values, greater-than or less-than.

The publisher states that Pips2 is not affiliated with The New York Times, which publishes the original Pips game. In the browser, Pips2 offers unlimited puzzles in Easy, Medium and Hard with no daily limit. Players can choose puzzles generated by the Pips2 engine, past New York Times puzzles, or both.

Unlimited play needs no download or account. Other sections include Pips NYT Today, which has independent leaderboards for that day's New York Times boards, and Pips2 Daily, a separate set of three generated puzzles each day. There is also an archive of past boards, hints, answers and a How to Play guide.

A separate iPhone app requires iOS 17 or later and uses original Pips2 puzzle boards. It adds a built-in puzzle library that works offline in two modes: Classic, and Repair, in which players find misplaced dominoes on a filled board and move them until every clue works. The app also has three daily challenges, live 1v1 matches, hints, and tracking of solver level, XP and streaks.

The publisher lists the app at $3.99 in the US as a one-time purchase with no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases. The web game is free. Pips2 is aimed at players who want more domino logic puzzles after they finish the daily Pips board.
