snapcn is a shadcn registry of Remotion components for React video, from Shadcn Labs. The free set covers text animations, captions, logo stings, device mockups, and scenes. You install one with the shadcn CLI and the source is copied into your project, the same way shadcn/ui copies interface components.
You need a Remotion project first, from npx create-video@latest, with a components.json. A command such as npx shadcn@latest add @snapcn/text-reveal writes the file under components/snap-cn/, or wherever components.json points. The components use useCurrentFrame, interpolate, and spring.
Styles come through a theme prop, because CSS custom properties do not survive a Remotion render, so Tailwind is not required. The browser preview and the exported file are the same component. Anything that renders Remotion can render them, including npx remotion render, the SSR APIs, and Remotion Lambda. 52 components are free and MIT.
The browser editor exports those at 720p with a small snapcn mark. Saved projects need a sign-in. There is no account or key required to install the free components.
An agent skill installs with npx skills add snapcndev/snapcn. The pricing page lists 7 free skills for Claude Code, Cursor, and Gemini CLI, and puts the snapcn MCP server on Pro. Pro is the other 72 components, the MCP server and its one-click plugins, video templates, and watermark-free 1080p exports.
For the United States, the pricing page showed Pro at about $129 a year, with 13 of 50 places left at that price, a lifetime at about $249 once, and a commercial license for up to five people at $499 once. The billing country sets the final price. VAT and sales tax are added at checkout where they apply, and sales are final.
