Obsidian 1.14.5 for desktop updates Electron from 43.7.5 to 43.8.3, which Obsidian says includes several important security fixes. For this public release, Obsidian instructs you to download the app from its website and reinstall it.

Obsidian 1.15.0 desktop early access replaces its Mermaid renderer with Pele, a diagram library compatible with Mermaid 12.1.0 syntax. This build is available to Catalyst members.

Obsidian says diagrams appear faster. They use your theme's colors and fonts, adapt to note width, and support zooming and panning when scaled down. Since Pele can't run code, diagrams display without asking first, and the Show Mermaid diagrams in notes setting is gone.…

Obsidian 1.15.0 mobile early access adds voice recording with live transcription to iOS Quick Capture, including from the Lock Screen. Voice capture requires iOS 26, and recordings can be saved to your vault.

Quick Capture is also available through Spotlight and Siri. Setting its Note Title to Automatic uses the first 80 characters of your capture as the title.

The release also adds PDF export for notes on mobile and lets you drag tabs between tab groups in the tab switcher.

Obsidian 1.15.0 is in early access for Catalyst members, with a new Mermaid diagram renderer and voice capture on iOS.

The renderer, Pele, uses your theme's colors and fonts. Obsidian says it renders up to 500 times faster. On iOS, Quick Capture can now record and transcribe voice notes.

Obsidian 1.14 Desktop lets you open individual Markdown files outside a vault. Local images and links resolve from the file's folder, and macOS Quick Look can preview Markdown files even when Obsidian is closed.

Opening individual files requires the latest installer, so you'll need to download Obsidian from its website and reinstall the app.

Obsidian 1.14 Mobile adds Quick Capture on iOS 26, so you can save notes without waiting for your vault to load. It works from the Lock Screen, Control Center, Home Screen widgets or Shortcuts.

Customizable Locations send captures to a new note, today's daily note, a bookmarked note or any note you choose, with optional templates.

Obsidian 1.14.4 desktop makes sidebar searches match each item's full path. Excluding a term such as -Archive hides a matching folder and everything inside it. This build is in early access for Catalyst members.

In Bases, you can right-click a kanban column to hide it. The Outline and Outgoing links views also work with files opened from outside your vault.

The release fixes property suggestions showing results from an earlier query, which could make Enter select an old link.

Obsidian 1.14.4 mobile fixes several Bases scrolling issues in an early access build for Catalyst members.

Kanban views can scroll horizontally when every card is hidden, columns keep their size when the keyboard opens or closes, and table views keep their horizontal position after a pull-down action.

Obsidian's iOS Quick Capture can now apply a template when it's set to a daily note or a selected note. It's part of Obsidian 1.14.3 Mobile, an early access release for Catalyst members.

The release also fixes a launch crash on iOS 17 and earlier, syllables disappearing while typing in Korean, and Sync setup loading forever after a login expires. Quick Capture now respects the vault root when that's selected as the location for new notes.
