You can now trigger Linear loops from Slack and GitHub.
The update also lets you share loops as templates and customize their reasoning levels.
Linear Loops can now start automatically from Slack and GitHub events. Linear's examples include answering product questions in a Slack channel and drafting a QA plan when a pull request gets a “ready for testing” label.
You can also share a loop as a workspace template. Open its menu and select Save as template; it'll appear alongside Linear's built-in templates when someone creates a loop.
Each loop now has a reasoning setting.…
Linear now shows stacked pull requests in Diffs, with review, CI, and merge status as you move through the stack. Related PRs sit in a single collapsible row in Reviews. For GitHub-native stacks, you can preview every affected PR before merging the current PR and those below it.
Diffs also update live during coding sessions, including uncommitted changes from follow-up prompts.
Billing admins and owners can inspect AI credit spending in Usage & Limits and set workspace, user, or loop limits.…
Linear's coding agent adds adaptive routing: simpler tasks go to a faster model, while more complex work uses the default reasoning model. If a task needs more capability, you can restart it on the default model and keep the original pull request for reference.
Coding sessions can also access environment secrets during setup to fetch private dependencies and configuration. Open-weight model support starts with GLM-powered sessions; workspace admins and owners choose which models are available…
Linear Loops can now edit documents and post Slack updates, with more triggers for changes across projects, initiatives, cycles, and issues.
For example, when a project's target date changes, a loop can update the launch plan and post a Slack message explaining what changed and who needs to act. Each run starts a conversation with Linear Agent that you can continue to review the work or give further direction.
Introductory Loops credits were extended through December 31.…
Linear's inbox has a new Priority tab for notifications that need your attention.
Linear chooses what appears there by default, but you can customize it by selecting notification sources or creating a filter. Turn it on in the inbox display options, or keep using the existing inbox.

Linear's coding sessions can now set up, run, and test code before returning it. Sessions detect and install dependencies, and you can create an environment in settings to pin runtime versions, add setup scripts, and define environment variables.
Once the app is running, the agent can test a flow in the browser and capture before-and-after screenshots. If it finds a problem, it can fix it and rerun the test.…
You can now assign a team to lead an initiative in Linear. Initiatives led by private teams are visible only to that team's members.
Linear's MCP also supports centrally managed access through Okta. When employees connect from a supported Anthropic agent, Linear verifies their identity through Okta and applies their existing Linear permissions. This requires an Enterprise workspace with Okta SAML configured.
