🧠 Claude releases "Fable 5.1" and "Mythos 5.1"

Claude released "Fable 5.1" and "Mythos 5.1," the latest versions of its most advanced models for coding and knowledge work, arriving three months after Fable 5 and Mythos 5.
The two are the same underlying model with different levels of safeguards. Fable 5.1 is generally available, while Mythos 5.1 is limited to vetted cybersecurity and life-sciences researchers through trusted access programs.
Fable sits above Haiku, Sonnet, and Opus as the most capable tier in the Claude lineup. It was first introduced in June 2026.
With Fable 5.1, you can now:
Run longer, harder tasks: The model sets a new standard on Claude's coding and research benchmarks, scoring 52.6% on Terminal-Bench-Science, more than double Fable 5's result.
Pay less for the same work: At lower effort settings, Fable 5.1 matches or beats Fable 5 at a much lower cost.
Save on repeated context: Cache reads (where the model re-reads inputs it has already processed) cost 75% less, which cuts real-world costs by around 25% for typical workloads and up to 45% for heavy automated ones.
Hit fewer false refusals: Cybersecurity safeguards now flag benign requests about 60% less often, and refusals on basic biology and medical questions are down around 85%.
Sticker prices are unchanged from Fable 5; the savings come from the cache read cut and effort settings.

CODING
🤝 Nvidia acquires "Hugging Face"

Nvidia agreed to acquire "Hugging Face" for $12.93 billion, its second-largest deal ever, putting one of the most widely used platforms for sharing AI models under the chipmaker's ownership.
Hugging Face is a hub where more than 18 million developers, researchers, and creators share over 3 million AI models, 500,000 datasets, and 1 million applications. Many of the open models behind creative tools are hosted and distributed there.

NVIDIA has quietly become the dominant open‑source contributor on Hugging Face, outpacing every other AI giant in popular repos.
Nvidia says the platform will stay open after the deal:
Hugging Face keeps its brand: It will continue operating as an open platform for the whole AI ecosystem.
No hardware lock-in: Nvidia says its own compute will not be required to build on or deploy through Hugging Face, and the platform will keep supporting multiple clouds and chip types.
Open models from everyone: The platform will continue hosting open-source and open-weight models from every model builder, not just Nvidia's.
Nvidia frames the deal as part of its push for open-weight AI, arguing that open models let smaller companies and institutions build on advanced capabilities without training models from scratch.

⚡ fal releases "H3 Max Turbo"

fal released "H3 Max Turbo" in preview, a faster and cheaper version of its H3 Max video model that runs at twice the speed for half the cost.
fal says Turbo keeps H3 Max's prompt understanding and aesthetics, targeting the 97th percentile of the original's quality on its internal tests, while still scoring above the base H3 model and other video models it compared against.
H3 Max, covered in last week's issue, is fal's post-trained version of MiniMax's H3 video model. It already generated a 5-second clip in about 3 seconds; Turbo cuts generation time in half again.
At its promotional price, 768p video costs $0.01 per second of output, which puts a 15-second clip at $0.15. The promotional pricing runs for the next two weeks.
Turbo is available now for text-to-video and image-to-video.
