What is Google Playground?

Google Playground is an experimental gaming platform from Google Labs. You describe a game in chat, starting from a blank canvas, a starter prompt, or guided help, then test it in the browser and revise the rules, physics, characters, or setting by asking. The product page lists genres such as Trivia, Tower Defense, and Racing, and games can also be created from scratch.

Play works on a phone or a laptop. A game can stay private, be shared by link, or be published to the Explore gallery. Leaderboards and multiplayer are available in select genres, and a Play Games profile can hold a custom handle.

Playground launched on October 7, 2026 for people 18 and older in the United States. Creation access is tiered based on a Google AI subscription. Google has not stated a price.

An integration with Unity Spark is planned and is not available yet. Google and Playground are trademarks of Google LLC; Creators Toolbox is not sponsored by or affiliated with Google.
