Refreshed payment method design in checkout

Checkouts that offer four or fewer payment methods and meet certain display criteria get tiles, while all other setups keep the list view.
Shopify's checkout now shows payment methods as tiles in some cases, in a refreshed payment method design listed under Checkout in the Shopify changelog.
When the tiled layout appears
The tiled layout is shown when the payment methods meet certain display criteria. One of those criteria is that the store offers four or fewer payment methods. The announcement does not list the other criteria.
Other configurations
Checkouts that don't meet the criteria keep the standard list view.
