Permitted store staff can now see an identified customer's online cart in POS
Authorized staff can now view items from an identified customer's abandoned online checkout in Shopify POS.
Shopify POS can now show staff an identified customer's abandoned online cart when they shop in store. Staff look the customer up in POS and, if they have items sitting in an abandoned checkout, use that to help with sizing, answer product questions, or complete the purchase in person.
The feature is available in Shopify POS v11.14 and is off by default. It requires the "View abandoned checkouts" permission, enabled under Settings > Users and permissions > Roles > POS Role(s) > Customers in Shopify Admin. A cart will only display if the customer is identified, has an email address, has an eligible abandoned checkout, and the POS session has location context. Staff can see the products in the online cart, not the customer's browsing history.
