DoorDash comes to the Shopify App Store

Shopify merchants can now connect to DoorDash for local courier delivery and get discovered by nearby DoorDash shoppers.
Shopify and DoorDash closed a useful loop for local merchants. DoorDash is now in the Shopify App Store, letting store owners connect their shop to offer on-demand delivery and, just as importantly, get discovered by local shoppers browsing DoorDash for what they need right now.
Fulfillment and discovery in one integration
The integration does two jobs at once. On fulfillment, it plugs DoorDash's local courier network into a Shopify store, so same-day, on-demand delivery becomes an option without the merchant building logistics from scratch. On demand generation, it surfaces the store to DoorDash's users searching for local, on-demand options, a discovery channel most small stores can't reach on their own. For a local business, being findable by someone who wants something delivered now is a genuinely different customer than someone browsing your site.
Why it matters for smaller merchants
On-demand local delivery has been the domain of big chains with the scale to run it. Bundling DoorDash into the Shopify App Store, a one-click install alongside every other Shopify integration, brings that capability down to the independent store level.
