Shopify links up with v0, Replit, Manus and Lovable to build storefronts
AI app builders now design Shopify storefronts while ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity manage orders and prices via chat.
Shopify now connects to a set of AI tools for building and running a store, so merchants can work from whichever one they already use rather than switching into the Shopify admin for everything.
- AI app builders v0, Replit, Manus, and Lovable can build a storefront's design, layout, copy, and UI, which then connects to Shopify for checkout, payments, taxes, shipping, and the rest of the commerce backend.
- Chat assistants ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity can connect to a store to add products, check orders, update prices, and pull reports using plain language.
- A new AI Toolkit brings Shopify commands to developer tools: a Claude Code plugin, a Cursor plugin, a Gemini CLI extension, a VS Code source install, and an MCP server configuration for Codex CLI. It can also be installed as an agent skill with npx skills add Shopify/shopify-ai-toolkit.
- Sidekick, Shopify's built-in AI assistant included with every plan, stays in the admin to analyze sales, edit the storefront, or launch a discount.
Existing Shopify stores can also be connected to these tools, not just new ones, and setup steps vary by tool. Access permissions for any connected AI tool can be changed or revoked from the Shopify admin, and checkout and payments data is always processed by Shopify directly.
