Analyze purchase orders in Shopify Analytics

Three new reports cover supplier costs, linked shipments and open orders without transfers.
Purchase order data can now be reviewed and exported in Shopify Analytics, with three new default reports covering costs, linked shipments and open orders.
Three purchase order reports
- Purchase order costs shows ordered quantities, supplier costs, estimated taxes and total costs. Users can expand purchase order totals into supplier, destination, SKU and variant details.
- Purchase order transfers shows shipment and receiving details for linked transfers, including shipment status, expected delivery dates and shipped, received, accepted and rejected quantities.
- Purchases on order shows ordered quantities and costs for open purchase orders marked as ordered that have no linked transfers.
Custom reports and cost comparisons
Stores with purchase order analytics available can use the default reports and create custom data explorations. Grouping and filtering by supplier, destination or product variant lets users compare purchasing volume, find frequently ordered items and review average supplier unit costs.
Cost metrics are converted to the store currency using a daily exchange rate based on when each line item was added, so converted amounts can differ from those on the purchase order. Custom reports, Purchase order costs and Purchases on order use the line item creation date for their date range; Purchase order transfers uses the shipment creation date.
Purchase Orders page totals
The Purchase Orders page also shows purchase orders, on-order purchase orders, total items ordered, acceptance rate and shipments due soon. Shopify’s purchase order reporting guide details the available metrics and filters.
