Add your own notes to Shopify Analytics

By Steven Van ·

Annotations on time-series reports are shared with staff who have Reports permission and sit alongside context from Shopify and installed apps.

Shopify Analytics now supports annotations on supported time-series reports, so notes about what happened can sit beside the data. The Shopify changelog entry gives examples such as a campaign launch, creator mention, supplier change, promotion or operational improvement.

From the annotations panel, you can:

  • Add a title, description, date or date range, and annotation type
  • Use auto-detected annotation categories or choose your own
  • Edit, delete, and see who created each annotation
  • Search and filter context from your team, installed apps, and Shopify

Annotations are shared with staff who have Reports permission. They appear alongside context from Shopify and installed apps.
