Pencil adds Shader Mode for shaders in the design

By Steven Van ·

Shader Mode lets Pencil users write shaders alongside the design itself, though the announcement does not say which plans get it.

Pencil has added Shader Mode, a focused mode for writing shaders in the context of the design. It was introduced on October 27 in an announcement on X, and the idea is that shader work happens inside the design rather than in a separate place.

The announcement does not say which plans include Shader Mode, and it does not describe how the mode works beyond that. Pencil's product page mentions shaders in general but does not name this mode.
