Ori Harness: The Best Way to Use OpenRouter with Any Harness

Using OpenRouter with your favorite harness usually means ad-hoc scripts or a wall of environment variables.
OpenRouter has released a CLI called ori that configures coding harnesses to run against its gateway without hand-editing environment variables. Installing it and running ori login sets up an optimised connection for a given harness in one step.
- Supported today: Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and Hermes, run via ori claude, ori codex, ori opencode and ori hermes.
- For Claude Code specifically, ori sets the full range of environment variables needed to match the first-party experience, including base URL, auth tokens and tool search settings, and adjusts them based on the --model flag so open models that don't support tool search aren't given settings built for Anthropic's models.
OpenRouter says more harnesses are planned, along with better support for desktop apps, a toolbar widget for tracking usage and switching to OpenRouter globally, and bundled WebSearch plugins for harnesses like OpenCode.
