By Steven Van ·
Includes all new functionality and bug fixes up to Obsidian Desktop v1.8.3. Shiny new things We've added a new experience when you first install the app.
The Obsidian mobile app has moved to version 1.8, bringing it in line with Desktop 1.8.3. New installs now get a guided setup flow to help create a vault and configure sync across devices.
- The file explorer context menu now shows a folder's file and folder count, and a file's creation and modified time.
- The app no longer waits for iCloud to finish syncing configuration files; offloaded files are redownloaded and the app prompts a reload once synced.
- A new command opens the tab switcher, which can be bound to the pull-down action.
- The active file is now always highlighted in the tab switcher, and no longer fails to reset when closing a sidebar view.
- On iOS, tapping the status bar now always scrolls to the top of the active file, or the sidebar if one is active.
- Long-pressing a tab in the tab switcher no longer drags the tab preview image.
- Android keyboard auto-correction no longer inserts extra text.
- On iOS, a rare bug where a new folder wasn't detected until the app was rebooted is fixed.
Full details are in the changelog.
