Obsidian 1.8.2 Desktop (Early access)
By Steven Van ·
Improvements When a numbered list is modified, the numbers are now automatically updated. Added a new File Explorer option to auto-reveal the active file.
Numbered lists in Obsidian now renumber themselves automatically when items are added, removed or reordered. Obsidian's 1.8.2 desktop release also adds an "Insert footnote" command, with autocomplete that offers to create a new footnote when no match exists.
- File Explorer can now auto-reveal the active file.
- The Web Viewer's "..." menu gains a "Bookmark..." option.
- Canvas groups can have empty labels that stay visible while editing, and cards being edited stay mounted when zoomed out.
- Sync version history shows a preview image for Canvas files.
- The "Search current file" bar now shows a total result count, and pressing Down moves the cursor out of the search bar to navigate results with arrow keys.
- Tags view adds a search filter, and the "Insert template" screen now sorts by file path and shows folder names.
The release also fixes several IME issues (including extra characters appearing after typing "1." in Canvas), adds a "Retry" button for failed Sync connections, and corrects YouTube links with timestamps that previously didn't seek to the right time.
