Obsidian 1.14.2 Desktop (Early access)

Obsidian 1.14.2 for desktop adds a command to open outside files and OS-level "Open with" support, plus kanban and Bases fixes.
Obsidian can now open files that live outside your vault. The new "Open file from outside the vault..." command lets you pick any file on your computer and view it inside the app, in your current window, on desktop. Obsidian also now shows up in your operating system's "Open with" menu, and can be set as the default app for Markdown files, though that requires downloading the latest installer.
The 1.14.2 desktop release, currently in early access, also includes several smaller changes:
- Base font size is stored in local device storage instead of appearance.json, so it no longer syncs via Obsidian Sync.
- Link suggestions in the editor and the quick switcher now always use fuzzy matching, even in vaults with more than 10,000 files.
- Drag and drop in the kanban layout and File Explorer scrolls smoothly when dragging near the edge of the view.
- In Bases Kanban, cards can be moved between folder columns when grouped by file.folder, and new notes created in a column are placed in the matching folder.
