Obsidian 1.14.0 Desktop (Early access)
New Editor Added color highlights.
The Obsidian desktop editor now supports coloured highlights: adding an emoji (🔴, 🟠, 🟢, 🔵, 🟣) to the start of a highlight changes its colour, or a colour can be picked from the new formatting submenu. Typing == now suggests highlight colours, and in Live Preview an inline swatch appears when the cursor overlaps a highlight, letting the colour be changed with a click.
Bases gets a new kanban layout that displays files in ordered columns, defined with Group by and reordered by drag and drop. Groups are now collapsible in the table, cards, and list layouts too.
- The whole workspace, including sidebars, now flips for right-to-left languages, while commands like "Toggle left sidebar" keep referring to the visual left sidebar.
- Popout windows, such as Settings, now close much faster.
- Pasting a list item onto a line that already has a list marker no longer duplicates the marker.
- Inline formatting commands are improved, so toggling bold with a cursor partway through bold text no longer splits the formatting.
The release, detailed in the changelog, is available now as an early access desktop build.
