Obsidian 1.13 Desktop (Public)
By Steven Van ·
This update introduces a new searchable Settings panel and new experience for working with images, including a full-screen image viewer.
Obsidian 1.13 rebuilds the Settings panel and introduces a new way to work with images, including a full-screen viewer.
Settings now open in a new window by default (a toggle in Settings → Interface can turn this off) and can be searched by name or description, currently covering core settings and core plugins; community plugins can adopt the new settings API to appear in results. Keyboard navigation is built in too: arrow keys move between items, Enter opens a tab, and Ctrl/Cmd-F refocuses search, with Vim key bindings also supported. The bundled Settings Search plugin is now deprecated as a result.
Images can be resized and viewed full-screen by clicking an image or its Zoom button, with click-and-drag panning and navigation between all images embedded in a file. In Live Preview, images can now be selected with the keyboard: press + or - to resize, 0 to reset, Enter to edit, or backspace/delete to remove the embed. Vim users get a new :image Ex command for the same actions, with count support such as :5image grow.
The update also adds a confirmation dialog before Obsidian URIs fire an action, with an allow list for actions you choose not to be asked about again, and a warning dialog when syncing plugins via Obsidian Sync.
Full details are in the 1.13 changelog, including editor, file explorer and Properties fixes for this Obsidian release.
