Obsidian 1.13.6 Desktop (Public)

By Steven Van ·

Improvements The app now waits for configuration files to finish saving when quitting to avoid the file getting corrupted.

Obsidian 1.13.6 for desktop closes a possible cause of vault corruption: the app now waits for configuration files to finish saving before it quits. Closed tabs also reopen more reliably, landing back in the correct tab group instead of wherever the last active tab happened to be.

  • The settings window closes with Escape, and Tab/Shift-Tab now move between focusable elements instead of getting stuck on the current row.
  • In fullscreen, settings open on top of the app window rather than opening a second fullscreen window.
  • The dialog asking users to approve URI actions has been removed, since it was confusing non-technical users.
  • Several Live Preview fixes, including a memory leak from reordering rows or columns in a Markdown table.
  • Vaults on network drives, which had stopped working, are fixed.

The installer now uses Electron v43.3.0. Full details are in the changelog.
