Improvements Obsidian CLI The Obsidian Installer is now bundled with a new binary file for using the CLI.
Obsidian 1.12.7 for desktop bundles a new binary for the Obsidian CLI, replacing the old method of calling the Electron binary and making terminal interactions significantly faster. The update also adds autocompletion for Obsidian commands in the terminal interface when using the id= parameter. Both changes require downloading the latest installer, which now runs on Electron v39.8.3.
The release also fixes several bugs:
- The CLI no longer checks for a Linux-specific directory on macOS, and its socket file is now a hidden dotfile on macOS and Linux.
- Several copy, cut, and paste issues in the editor are fixed: copying and pasting a line no longer misplaces the cursor, and cutting or copying in a table without a selection now copies only the cell contents.
- Pasting a URL while text is selected across multiple cursors now wraps each selection as a Markdown link.
- Images inside callouts no longer show unwanted scrollbars in Reading mode, and double-clicking an image in Live Preview now resets its size.
