Obsidian's mobile app picks up home screen and lock screen widgets, along with a refreshed interface, in version 1.11.
- On iOS 18 and later, new Lock Screen and Control Center widgets can create a note, open a specific note, open the daily note, open search, or open Obsidian; Home Screen widgets can create a note, view a note, or open the daily note. Widgets aren't available when "Require Face ID" is turned on.
- iOS also gets Shortcuts support for opening a note, opening the daily note, and capturing text into a note without launching the app, plus Siri phrases such as "Capture using Obsidian" and "Open my daily note in Obsidian". Searching "Obsidian" in Spotlight now shows New Note, Search, and Daily Note actions.
- On Android, new widgets can open a note, create a note, search, open the daily note, or open Obsidian; multiple widgets of the same type can be configured, via long-press, to target different files or search queries. Android 7.0+ gets a Quick Settings tile, and Android 7.1+ gets long-press app shortcuts for opening a note or the daily note.
- Plugin developers can now request the user's location, for use in plugins such as Maps.
The release also reworks the mobile interface: navigation now hides automatically while scrolling down in a note, there's a new bottom-aligned sidebar navigation, double-tapping switches a note from reading to editing mode, and toasts move to the top of the screen on phones. Several bugs were fixed as well, including cursor placement on tap, lost scroll position when the keyboard closes, and iCloud vaults silently failing to open via URI.
