Notion agents can now be shared pages right from Share menu

Custom Agents on Business and Enterprise plans can now get page access the same way a teammate would, no detour to agent settings required.
Notion shipped a small quality-of-life update on August 5 that agent power users will feel immediately: you can now share pages with your Custom Agents straight from the Share menu. No settings detour, no re-scoping the agent's knowledge sources. Open Share on any page, hand it to the agent, done.
The Share menu now treats agents like teammates
This works exactly the way you would expect because it mirrors how Notion already handles people. Custom Agents show up as recipients in the Share menu, so granting an agent access to a brief, a style guide, or a project database is now the same one-click motion as looping in a colleague. Previously, getting context to an agent meant going through the agent's own configuration and adding pages or databases from there, which was fine for initial setup but clunky for the everyday case of "here, read this too." Notion's framing in the announcement is right: the point is making it easier to give agents all the context they need.
Custom Agents, six months in
Custom Agents arrived in Notion 3.3 back in February 2026 on Business and Enterprise plans. They are persistent AI teammates that live in your workspace: you write their instructions, decide which pages and databases they can see, and let them run tasks on demand or on a schedule. They are also governed like teammates. Agents can be shared across a team, and permission levels separate people who can use an agent from people who can edit its instructions and access. Crucially, an agent can only work with content it has been given access to, which is precisely why sharing friction matters. An agent with a thin slice of your workspace gives thin answers.
Small toggle, real leverage for agent workflows
The quality of an agent's output is mostly a function of the context it holds, and this change moves context-sharing from an admin task to a reflex. Finished a meeting doc the agent should know about? Share it as you close the page. Updated the campaign brief? Same motion. It also fits the direction Notion has been pushing all year, from shareable Workers in July to external agent support in Notion 3.6: agents are being woven into the same collaboration primitives as humans, rather than living in a separate AI corner of the product.
If you already run Custom Agents, this removes a papercut you have probably hit weekly. If you have not set one up yet, the workflow is now simple enough to describe in one sentence: create an agent, write its instructions, and share pages with it the way you share pages with anyone else.
