Notion 3.6: External Agents, HTML blocks, and more

Your agents shouldn’t be stuck in one-off chats.
Notion 3.6 lets agents that normally live in a CLI or IDE join the same board as the rest of a team. Claude and Cursor are the first two External Agents in Notion: they can be assigned tasks, @-mentioned like teammates, and watched as they run, so an end-to-end workflow can be automated without leaving the app.
The July 1 release also includes:
- AI Meeting Notes now labels speakers based on whose microphone is active, improving summaries and making sure follow-ups get assigned to the right person.
- Notion Agents can build interactive HTML blocks that live in a doc, such as an ROI calculator, a quiz, or an org chart built from a people database.
- Agents can now read and write PPTX, XLSX, DOCX, and PDF files, including turning a page into a PowerPoint or a database into an Excel model.
- Connecting Outlook Mail and Calendar lets an agent triage email, draft replies in a user's voice, and manage scheduling.
- Custom Agents get five new MCP connections out of the box: Mercury, Mixpanel, Miro, Box, and ClickHouse.
- Agents can now run on Opus 4.8, Grok 4.3, or the open-weight GLM 5.2.
- Custom Agent actions are now tracked in the audit log, available on Enterprise.
