Notion 2.45: Meet the new Notion AI

By Steven Van ·

One tool that does it all. Search, generate, analyze, and chat—right inside Notion.

Notion AI can now search across connected sources when answering a question, starting with a beta for Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, with GitHub and Jira coming later.

  • Generated or edited writing can be guided by @mentioning a page, such as a style guide or past project update, instead of getting a generic response.
  • Uploaded PDFs and images can be analysed, for example pulling insights from a long PDF or explaining an image.
  • Chat runs on GPT-4 and Claude, and answers can be added straight into a page without copying from another tab.
  • Notion AI can now answer questions about using Notion itself, pulling from the Notion Help Center instead of requiring a search of the help docs or a teammate.
  • Highlighting text now prompts Notion AI to suggest relevant actions, such as Explain or Improve Writing, without needing a prompt.
