Notion adds a Markdown API for reading and writing content

Developers can now use Markdown instead of Notion's block-based JSON, a feature Notion says was most requested.

Notion has shipped a Markdown API, letting developers read and write Notion content as Markdown instead of Notion's block-based JSON format. Notion says it was the most requested developer feature.

The release also comes with a recap of API and MCP improvements Notion has made over the past year:
