Faster retries and plan-based rate limits
Notion's API now caps per-connection rate limits by plan and shortens the longest retry wait from 15 minutes to 60 seconds.
Notion's API now enforces its per-connection rate limit over a fixed 60-second window, with the cap set by workspace plan: 600 requests per minute on Business and Enterprise plans, and 180 requests per minute on all other plans.
- The Retry-After value for this limit now tops out at 60 seconds, down from up to 15 minutes.
- Per-connection 429 responses also repeat the wait time in the response body, as additional_data.retry_after, for clients that can't read response headers.
Details are in the updated Request limits documentation.
