Notion's Agent can now triage and archive your inbox

By Steven Van ·

The Agent summarizes what needs attention, then archives or marks the rest read on your say-so, from chat.

Notion gave its Agent the chore everyone actually wants automated. The Agent can now manage your Notion Inbox: from chat, it catches you up on what matters, then marks notifications read or archives them in bulk. Notion's own framing: it's a bad day to be a notification.

Triage as a conversation

The workflow inverts how inboxes work. Instead of scanning a list of mentions, comments, and page updates one by one, you ask the Agent what's important and get a briefing: the decisions waiting on you, the comments that need replies, the noise. Then the cleanup happens in bulk on your say-so, everything from that archived project, read; the automated updates, archived. Summarize, decide, sweep, the loop that used to be twenty minutes of clicking becomes one exchange.

Why the inbox was the right next target

Notion's Inbox is where collaboration debt accumulates: the more your team lives in Notion, docs, projects, wikis, the more the notification stream becomes its own workload. It's also the perfect agent task, high volume, low stakes per item, clear user intent, which makes it a trust-builder: letting an agent archive notifications is how users get comfortable before letting it edit databases or restructure pages. Notion has been walking that ladder deliberately, from Q&A to Agents on iOS to inbox management.

The catch-up economy

Every workspace tool is converging on the same insight: the scarce resource isn't features, it's attention, and "catch me up" is becoming a standard verb. ChatGPT's desktop app syncs your work context, Higgsfield's free LLM mode courts your planning, and Notion is making sure the moment you feel buried happens inside Notion with a resolution one chat away. For creators juggling client workspaces, bulk-archive-by-agent might be the most honest productivity gain of the month.

Try it

Inbox management is live in Notion Agent now. The natural first prompt after a weekend away: "catch me up on my inbox and archive anything that doesn't need me."
