The 13.4.4 patch cuts scroll code size by up to 44%, speeds up scroll callbacks by 50% and fixes drag, spring and AnimatePresence bugs.
Motion 13.4.4 shrinks the scroll code and speeds up scroll callbacks. Motion Studio is the visual timeline and AI editing agent for Motion animations. This patch is to the Motion library itself, and the changelog entry lists size changes, one removal and four fixes.
Size and speed
- scroll is 44% smaller.
- useScroll is 33% smaller.
- Scroll callbacks are 50% faster.
Removed
ScrollTimeline support for JS callbacks is gone. The changelog says benchmarks showed no improvement over scrollInfo.
Fixes
- useDragControls: snapToCursor no longer drifts from its origin on repeated calls.
- drag: pointerend timing is improved.
- spring: invalid spring values are now checked before they are applied.
- AnimatePresence: children no longer stick during reentry.
