HyperFrames video compositions can now render on Vercel

By Steven Van ·

An open-source HeyGen/Vercel template pre-bakes a Chromium and FFmpeg sandbox so renders skip reinstalling dependencies each time.

HeyGen and Vercel have released an open-source template that lets HyperFrames video compositions render on Vercel. The HeyGen-built HyperFrames framework takes HTML, CSS and GSAP and turns it into an MP4; the new template previews those compositions in the browser via a web component, then renders them server-side on Vercel Sandbox and stores the output in Vercel Blob.

A build-time step pre-bakes a Chromium and FFmpeg sandbox snapshot so renders don't reinstall dependencies each time, cutting cold render time for the bundled 11-second example to about 2 minutes. On Vercel's Pro plan, the $20/month Sandbox credit included covers roughly 100 renders of that example per month. The template ships with one pre-authored composition; building a custom one requires the HyperFrames CLI locally. It's released under the Apache-2.0 licence, and full details are in the original announcement.
