Gemini Notebook adds Drive sync and slide editing

Sources from Google Drive now auto-update, and web users can pin notebooks and reorder generated slides.
Fresh off its rename from NotebookLM, Gemini Notebook dropped a run of quality-of-life features, and teased that big things are brewing. The updates are individually small but collectively address the everyday friction of working with sources, notebooks, and generated slide decks across web and mobile.
Drive sync is the standout
The most useful change: sources uploaded from Google Drive now automatically sync when you edit them. Previously, updating a source document meant re-uploading it, and forgetting to do so meant your notebook quietly ran on stale material, exactly the kind of silent error that undermines trust in a research tool. Auto-sync keeps a notebook's answers grounded in the current version of your documents, which for anyone whose sources are living files is the difference between reliable and risky.
Organization and slide control
Two web features tackle organization. You can now pin notebooks to the top of your homepage, so the two or three you actually use daily stop getting buried. And in Slide Decks, you can reorder or delete slides in new or existing decks, turning the AI-generated deck from a take-it-or-leave-it output into something you can actually arrange. That editability is what makes generated slides usable for a real presentation rather than just a draft.
Mobile catches up
The mobile app gained meaningful parity: share specific artifacts from your phone, download slide decks on mobile, and search for notebooks on mobile. Research and studying happen away from the desk as often as at it, and letting people pull up, share, and download their work on a phone is what makes the notebook a companion rather than a desktop-only tool.

The "big things are brewing" tease follows the recent confirmation that folders, the most-requested feature, are on the way. For now, these updates are live, with the web-only features noted as such. If you keep sources in Drive, turning on the sync behavior is the one to notice first.
