Etsy replaces ChatGPT checkout with a browsable @Etsy app

The beta app lets shoppers describe what they want and browse matching listings from Etsy's 100 million+ catalogue before clicking through to buy.
Etsy has launched a native app inside ChatGPT, letting shoppers browse its catalogue of over 100 million listings without leaving the chat. Users can tag @Etsy in a prompt and describe what they want in plain language, such as a Mother's Day gift under $100 for a mom who loves gardening, and the app surfaces matching listings to browse, compare, and click through to Etsy for details or purchase. The feature is live in beta.
It replaces Etsy's earlier ChatGPT integration, Instant Checkout, which let users buy directly inside the chat but ended in March after Etsy reportedly saw low sales volume through it. Alongside the ChatGPT app, Etsy is also testing a beta conversational gift-finding assistant within its own platform, offering a guided way to narrow down preferences and surface products.
