Remote control for local agents
By Steven Van ·
Access is through the Cursor iOS app, while agents keep running on a computer that must stay on and online.
The Cursor iOS app now lets users check what their local agents are doing and send them messages. The feature is available as of the October 6 announcement.
Pair a computer
After downloading the iOS app and signing in, computers on the same account appear automatically. Tap a computer, then approve the pairing request in the Cursor desktop app. Local agents appear in a list, where tapping one opens its activity and messaging.
Keep agents running locally
Agents continue running on the computer, with the iOS app connecting to them. The computer must stay on and online, and remote control does not require cloud agents.
To prevent the computer from sleeping, enable “Keep this computer awake” under Remote Control in Cursor’s desktop settings. The computer needs to be plugged in with its lid open.
Enterprise access
Remote Control is enabled by default except for Enterprise organizations. Enterprise admins can enable it in Org settings > Security and identity > Remote control.
