Cursor Projects
Coordinator agents in Cursor now plan, delegate to parallel subagents, and run in the cloud over weeks of work.
Cursor is launching Projects, a mode for work that runs longer than a single session: a feature, a migration, or a full app. A coordinator agent plans the work and delegates it to other agents that write the code, rather than writing code itself, then brings the finished work back for review.
- The coordinator can run as many agents in parallel as the work needs, delegating to thousands of subagents over the life of a project.
- Each Project runs on its own machine in the cloud, so it keeps going after you close your laptop. When something needs testing locally, the coordinator spins up an agent on your machine to run it there.
- Projects maintain a set of files that sync across every cloud and local machine involved, so agents share research, artifacts, and what they've learned about the codebase and your preferences instead of starting fresh each time.
- Coordinators can be set to watch a Slack channel, run on a schedule, or follow your pull requests, acting on those signals without needing a prompt.
Projects are available in beta in Cursor, accessible from the left-hand nav, and are rolling out to all users starting today.
