Claude Code 2.1.310

By Steven Van ·

Version 2.1.310 brings Monitor to Bedrock, Vertex and Foundry, and fixes gateway failures, over-eager file cleanup and a Windows hook bypass.

Claude Code 2.1.310 turns on the Monitor tool and plugin monitors for Claude Code users on Bedrock, Vertex and Foundry. They also work when telemetry or nonessential traffic is disabled. Long foreground sleeps are now blocked in those setups too. The changelog entry also lists several fixes and a prompt change for auto mode.

Fixes

  • Requests no longer fail behind some gateways and compatible servers that reject the effort-2025-11-24 beta value or mid-conversation system messages. Claude Code now retries without them.
  • Background cleanup no longer deletes some recent files, such as pasted images, when cleanupPeriodDays is set to a very large value.
  • Compaction after a "Prompt is too long" error no longer keeps too much of a conversation with dense text, such as base64 or SVG, so the next request should not fail again.
  • File read permission prompts now show where a symbolic link leads.
  • A question's auto-continue timeout no longer fires the moment the external editor closes after a long edit.
  • Windows: PreToolUse and PermissionRequest hooks no longer let a tool call through when Git Bash is missing and the hook's command is only quoted strings, such as a quoted path.

Auto mode prompt

Auto mode's prompt before the first read outside the working directories now says when blocking those reads makes shell commands ask for permission.
