Claude Code 2.1.305
By Steven Van ·
Version 2.1.305 adds a Linux sandbox option for user namespaces and a retry-mode usage limit recheck, and fixes a tool search failure on Vertex and Bedrock.
Claude Code 2.1.305 adds two settings and fixes a 2.1.304 regression that made every request fail on some providers. The changelog entry lists the changes below.
New settings
- sandbox.allowNestedUserNamespaces lets sandboxed commands on Linux create user namespaces, for tools such as Chromium and rootless podman. The changelog notes that this lets those commands get around the sandbox's file protections.
- CLAUDE_CODE_RETRY_WATCHDOG_USAGE_LIMIT_RECHECK_MS lets unattended retry mode (CLAUDE_CODE_RETRY_WATCHDOG) notice a usage limit that was lifted before its scheduled reset.
Fixes
- Every request no longer fails on Vertex, Bedrock and other providers when the endpoint or a gateway rejects tool search. The same applied behind gateways with ToolSearch disallowed or left out of --tools. This was a 2.1.304 regression, and Claude Code now retries without tool search.
- The /effort and /autocompact settings now apply when the model name differs from a modelOverrides value by letter case or a [1m] tag.
- New worktrees in a bare repository no longer sometimes start from local HEAD instead of the default branch. Unchanged subagent worktrees are also cleaned up reliably.
- Bash commands on a full disk no longer fail with a raw ENOSPC file path. The error now says the disk is full and that nothing ran.
- An MCP server passed by a cloud session or by the SDK's setMcpServers is no longer replaced later in the session by a same-named server from the user's own settings.
