Claude Code 2.1.301
By Steven Van ·
Version 2.1.301 adds a usage-limit wait cap for unattended retries, a vim bracket motion and more OpenTelemetry fields, plus several fixes.
Claude Code 2.1.301 adds new retry, vim and OpenTelemetry options and fixes a few bugs, according to the changelog.
Added
- CLAUDE_CODE_RETRY_WATCHDOG_MAX_USAGE_LIMIT_WAIT_MS: in unattended retry mode (CLAUDE_CODE_RETRY_WATCHDOG), a request now ends at a usage limit that resets too far away, instead of waiting.
- OpenTelemetry tracing guidance in the claude-api skill, including how to set up trace destinations with the ant CLI.
- The % motion in vim mode jumps to the matching bracket, alone or combined with d, c or y.
- A rows option for a mod's Input. It gives a text field of several lines in the terminal, where Enter submits and Shift+Enter, or a backslash before Enter, starts a new line.
- classifier_verdict and permission_mode on OpenTelemetry tool_decision events, so auto mode classifier decisions can be told apart from permission rules.
- classifier_category on tool_decision events, naming the built-in rule that a classifier block matched. It appears when OTEL_LOG_TOOL_DETAILS=1.
Fixed
- Quitting no longer removes a worktree created by a WorktreeCreate hook without asking when it may hold unpushed commits.
- The fable and best model aliases no longer error on the Anthropic API when the newest Fable model is not available to your organization. Claude Code now retries once on the previous Fable model.
- A misleading "Please run /login" error was also fixed. The source text is cut off after that point, so the rest of that entry is not covered here.
