Instruction-based hooks get fixes for blocked actions and checks that keep Claude working when it should continue.
Claude Code 2.1.294 fixes prompt and agent hooks written as instructions, such as “Block commands that...”, that were allowing actions they should block.
Fewer early stops
The update also improves how prompt hooks on Stop and SubagentStop are judged when written as instructions, such as “Carry on if the build is broken”. Claude is now less likely to stop early.
Both changes are listed in the release notes.
