Claude Code 2.1.288
By Steven Van ·
Prompt recovery with Up after Ctrl+C, a configurable findings limit for /code-review, and timeout fixes for non-interactive sessions and subagents.
Version 2.1.288 of Claude Code adds prompt recovery, new keyboard shortcuts and a fix for mid-response API timeouts, according to the changelog.
- Pressing Up on an empty prompt now brings back a draft cleared with Ctrl+C, including pasted text and images.
- Mods get $.ui.selection(), which returns the text last selected in fullscreen mode and, when the selection lies within one transcript row, that row.
- Cloud sessions whose image has no GitHub CLI now get a built-in gh api. The built-in no longer sends control characters from file names, jq filters or GitHub errors to the terminal.
- An MCP server that asks for more OAuth scope during a tool call now triggers a re-authenticate prompt.
- /code-review accepts --max-findings with a number or all to report more or fewer findings than the usual limit. The choice is reused until you pass --max-findings default.
- In the agents view, Ctrl+F finds a session by name and Alt+↑/↓ jumps between groups. Both, and rename, can be rebound in keybindings.json.
- Screen reader mode now announces the new permission mode when you approve a plan, including with Shift+Tab.
- After a mid-response API timeout, non-interactive sessions and subagents continue from the partial response instead of failing the turn, and thinking-only responses are retried.
