Claude Code 2.1.235 adds an optional spellcheck setting that underlines misspelled words in the prompt input as you type, using an installed aspell, hunspell, or ispell. The release also fixes several bugs in the terminal UI.
- Whole-prompt-cache invalidation was broken when a language server disconnected or reconnected mid-session
- Nested markdown list items misaligned at depth 3 and beyond; wrapped list items now get a hanging indent
- Prompt input highlights for slash commands, keywords, and mentions appeared shifted by one or more characters in some multi-line prompts
- Shift+Tab in the permission prompt's comment field approved the edit and granted session-wide edit permission instead of closing the field
- The Agent tool advertised a general-purpose default in sessions where that agent isn't available; an omitted subagent_type now returns a clear error listing the available agents
- Notebook cell delete/replace approval dialogs silently omitted existing cell content when the notebook or cell couldn't be read; the dialog now explains why
- Slash commands run while Claude is responding showed HTML entities instead of the actual characters
- The prompt footer wasn't showing the "Update installed" restart notice
