Eligible ChatGPT Pro and Business plans can claim API credits

By Steven Van ·

Eligible paid ChatGPT Pro and Business subscribers can claim up to $500 a month in API credits; Plus, free trials, Enterprise, and Edu do not qualify.

On October 28, 2026, eligible ChatGPT Pro and Business subscribers can claim up to $500 a month in free API credits to build apps and agents. Claim in Settings > Billing on Pro, workspace billing on Business, or API Platform.

Official OpenAI announcement.

Pro’s $100, $200, and $500 tiers get $100, $200, and $500 a month. Business gets $20 per paid Standard seat and $100 per paid Premium seat, pooled and capped at $500 per workspace a month. Annual-upfront workspaces get the year at once, capped at $6,000.

Only a paid plan active for at least seven days qualifies, not free trials, Plus, Enterprise, or Edu. You must own the ChatGPT subscription or workspace and the API organization on the same email. One subscription links to one organization. The first grant is prorated. Unused credits expire when the billing cycle ends and do not roll over. No API payment method is required. They do not raise ChatGPT or Codex usage limits.

Claude Max and Team already include a similar monthly API credit.
