ChatGPT in Chrome can use your tabs to get things done

ChatGPT can now read your open Chrome tabs in Chat and act in them in Work, with full ChatGPT side by side. Available on all plans.
ChatGPT is bringing computer use to Chrome. The upgraded extension, ChatGPT in Chrome, lets ChatGPT use your open tabs to give more useful answers and to get tasks done for you. It is available on all ChatGPT plans.
Chat reads your tabs, Work acts in them
In Chat, ChatGPT can look across the tabs you have open and gather information from them, so you no longer need to paste content from each page into the conversation. In Work, it can control your Chrome tabs to carry out tasks such as sending messages, filling out forms and downloading files. It can also organize and group a pile of open tabs.
Full ChatGPT in a Chrome tab
Using ChatGPT inside a Chrome tab also got an upgrade. Your entire ChatGPT history is there, and you can ask questions in Chat or get things done in Work side by side with the site you are on.
What you can ask it to do
OpenAI’s example tasks include comparing three open couch listings by dimensions, material, delivery time and return policy; explaining an article in plain English; checking pricing pages against your requirements; filling out a registration form from an event brief and stopping before submitting; and adding the vendors in your tabs to a comparison sheet with pricing, key features and source links.
Why it matters
In July the extension gained tab and page context for questions. This release adds actions: in Work, ChatGPT can operate the pages you already have open, in the browser you already use. Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store to get started.
