ChatCut launches a desktop app for human-AI co-editing

By Steven Van ·

The app lets editors direct Codex or Claude Code on a real timeline and exports to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and CapCut.

ChatCut has launched a desktop app that lets a human and an AI agent edit the same project. Editors describe changes in plain English and watch them applied to a real, fully editable timeline, or connect Codex or Claude Code directly to work through an editing backlog.

  • Handles talking heads and B-roll, editable motion graphics, and captions in any style with translation
  • Generates video, images, music, and sound effects, including Seedance 2.5
  • Lets editing skills be saved and reused across projects
  • Exports projects as XML to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and CapCut

Editing runs locally, so an agent works on the real timeline while the editor stays in control. See the announcement for more, and find ChatCut on Creators Toolbox.
