Cardboard edits video inside ChatGPT and Claude

By Steven Van ·

Cardboard’s video editor now runs inside ChatGPT and Claude, turning a chat request into a timeline edit you can open in the app.

On October 26, Cardboard said its video editor now lives in ChatGPT and Claude. You drop in clips, say what you want, and get a finished edit without leaving the chat. Add Cardboard, sign in, and the company says it works on every plan using the credits you already have.

Cuts, captions, music, reframes, and motion graphics land on a real timeline, and a follow-up request continues the same edit. Every chat edit is a Cardboard project you can open in the browser or the Mac app. The release also adds recipes in chat, attachments, export from the player, and undo by asking.

Cardboard is an agentic editor for the browser and for Mac on Apple Silicon. The Mac app is free to download with Lite included. Lite is paid on the web. The chat launch does not add a separate Cardboard subscription.
